An education from Cornell's College of Arts & Sciences opens the doors to many different pathways to success.
Arts & Sciences Career Services provides advice, counseling, and career resources to 4,000 undergraduates in the largest college at Cornell. We expose liberal arts students to various career and employment options, and we provide them with the career development tools to pursue their career goals.
One way we do this is by connecting students with alumni to learn about careers. This past year, we connected more than 700 students with over 100 alumni through networking events on and off-campus as well as one on one conversations. With new technology, we can connect more students with alumni around the globe.
As much as students need advice, they also need internships and jobs. We are fortunate to have many recruiters visit campus throughout the year to interview students and we intend to grow our recruiting programs by purchasing new technology for remote video interviews.
Our plan includes computers for remote video interviews and a conference room wired for video chats with alumni and recruiters. A screen in the lobby would advertise upcoming events and share job search tips.
We will also purchase computers for our lobby for students to use in their career exploration and job searching.
The new space will have two offices dedicated to on-campus recruiting and Career Specialist Office Hours and with your help, we'll have technology to connect with alumni and recruiters remotely.
A liberal arts degree is a valuable asset and the College of Arts & Sciences needs a space like this to show students that the sky is the limit!
This crowdfunding campaign is an important step in helping us reach our goal, by providing critical seed money. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Buy a laptop for students to search for jobs or interview with employers.
A flat screen for the lobby advertising upcoming events and career tips will cost $6,000. Give towards this new technology.
We did some digging and found that we can outfit our conference room in our new space with video conferencing equipment for about $10,000.
