Thank you to all of you who helped to make the renovation of the AD White Library possible.  Through the process we have replaced the carpeting. purchased new lamps, purchased new tables, and refurbished the existing study tables.  I have included pictures of the new carpeting, desks and lamps.

Cornell University Library is thankful to all of you who supported the crowd funding campaign to Bring Light to AD White.  I have attached a couple of photos of the large ornate study table and the stationary study tables that were recently refurbished.  We are grateful for your support to help restore this furniture to its original beauty.  I will send more photo updates when more work is completed.

We are thrilled with the success of the A.D. White Library crowd funding campaign and we have you to thank.  We exceeded our goal twice and raised a total of $42,100 from 248 donors and with the Library's 1:1 match we reached a grand total of $84,200!  These funds will enable us to replace the carpeting, refurbish the classic furniture, purchase new desks, and add more lighting and electricity.  Thank you so much for participating and for your support of the A.D. White Library.  We  look forward to showing you the newly revitalized A.D. White Library in the near future.  Thank you again!!

Wow!  The AD White Library crowd funding project has surpassed $40,000!  Thank you all for helping this to be the most successful crowd funding campaign in Cornell's history!  We are thrilled with the response we have received from alumni, parents and friends.  As one of the most iconic spaces on Cornell's campus, we are grateful for your support to help us upgrade and beautify this space.  Look for future updates with photos of the Library's upgrades.

Wow!  We have exceeded our crowd funding goal for the A.D. White Library campaign a second time by receiving $31,365 from 216 donors! We even still have 13 more days to go in the campaign.  Thank you all for your support of this important initiative.  On behalf of the Library, we are grateful for your participation to help "Bring the Light to AD White"!   I look forward to providing you with updates and photos on our progress as we work to revitalize this historic library.

We are delighted by the response we have received to the Bring Light to AD White Library Campaign.  We have raised more than $17,000 from more than 120 donors in a matter of 5 days.  Thank you so much!  Due to this amazing response, we have decided to increase our goal to $30,000.  This will enable us to further beautify the AD White Library by reupholstering the classic furniture and replacing the tired, old red carpeting.  We want this iconic, historic library to remain a favorite study place for students and a place alumni continue to be proud to show family and friends.  Thank you so much for helping us to exceed our goal!  Below is another wonderful comment from an alumna who spent many hours in AD White:

"The White Library was my most favorite place to study at Cornell.  I had a very heavy academic schedule - I double majored in Government and East Asian Studies, and took 4 years of Chinese.  The White Library was a quiet place to study, that was also near Olin, with some of the research materials that I needed; this was important to me.  But I think the most important things were the beautiful views from the windows, and the general ambiance (even pre-Harry Potter, we got this) .   I lived on North Campus, but often used to eat at the Straight, and then  would stake out an upper level desk at the White Library.  If I did not arrive by 7:00 PM, I had no chance of a spot.  Thank you so much for having this fundraising campaign  I am a HUGE cheerleader for Cornell's libraries.  Please keep me updated about other campaigns, for all of the libraries."

We are excited about the response to this project and are getting closer to reaching our goal of $15K!  To date we have raised $12,815 and are pleased that Cornell's Provost, Michael Kotlikoff has joined the 98 donors who have supported this campaign.
