Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 520, also known as the 520th Cadet Wing, is a student organization hosted at Cornell University. Students from Ithaca College, SUNY Cortland, Elmira College, and Binghamton University also participate in the training provided here at Cornell University.

Mission
The mission of AFROTC Detachment 520 is to recruit, educate, and develop cadets in a high-quality training environment and commission the strongest leaders for the United States Air Force and Space Force.
Goals
The goal of AFROTC Detachment 520 is to train cadets in order to equip them with the necessary leadership skills and knowledge to serve as officers in the United States Air Force and Space Force.
Impact
This project aims to support the growth, preparation, and readiness of cadets within AFROTC Detachment 520, here at Cornell University. Cadets will develop important skills such as leadership, followership, problem-solving, and project management. Moreover, cadets will receive training in crucial aspects like effective communication, teamwork, time management, adaptability, and resilience, all of which hold significant importance in both military and civilian leadership roles. This comprehensive approach not only equips cadets for their future military careers but also empowers them with indispensable life skills that enhance their personal and professional success.
