Who are we?

CORNELL STEEL BRIDGE PROJECT TEAM

The Cornell University Steel Bridge Project Team ("Cornell Steel Bridge") is an undergraduate project team that annually competes in the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Student Steel Bridge Competition. The Fall semester is when students will spend time designing and analyzing a 23-foot-long model bridge and decide on the winning design. During the Spring semester, students will fabricate, weld, and construct to bring this bridge to life.

Design

Members spend one month designing a bridge using CAD software and developing a presentation, after which one bridge is selected as that year's competition design.

Build

Fabrication, Welding, and Construction subteams prepare for competition in the following months by converting our 3D-modeled ideas into a physical bridge.

Compete

In the spring, the team travels to a competition, where we compete with other universities to see who has the best bridge!
