Cornell Racing FSAE

What Fall 2022 Means to Us!

We need your help to take our next electric race car ARG23 to New Hampshire and Michigan SAE this Spring.

Cornell Racing

Cornell’s Formula SAE Team was established in 1986. For the past 36 years, we have been designing, manufacturing, and building a Formula One-style racecar. We started with one team and a dozen students, all majoring in mechanical engineering, and have grown the organization to be a 50 student-run team with 11 sub-teams and students who major in a variety of subjects from Engineering to Hospitality. As a 9 time World Champion, Cornell Racing has become synonymous with innovation and success.

Our Teamwork and Experience

The team is formed of 60 students from a variety of majors. Each student brings something unique to the team; the union between diverse skill sets and strong team work forms the core of our team. Members individually spend at least 20 hours per week designing, building, and testing the car to meet competition standards.

During the month of January, team members forego their winter breaks and return to Ithaca, New York to manufacture the car and prepare for the upcoming competitions in the spring and summer. Additionally, over the summer months, up to a quarter of the team remains on campus to plan for the following season.

Cornell Racing provides an unrivaled learning experience, that allows engineers to integrate classroom concepts with practical applications and compels students to overcome technical and collaborative challenges. The finished racecar is a testament to the team’s incredible work ethic and dedication.

With the competition mandated timeline of a brand new race car each year and the significant capital investment required, sponsorships are critical to our success.

Cornell Racing reaches out to all of our alumni through regular newsletters that prominently feature our sponsors. Our active team resume stack is distributed to sponsors to facilitate long-term professional relationships with our talented members.

Cornell Racing has been featured in magazines such as Road & Track, Winding Road, and Race Car, and has been highlighted in a Discovery Channel special. Therefore, the team and our sponsors, are actively being promoted across the United States and around the world. In addition, Cornell Racing proudly promotes all of our sponsors on our website, Instagram, and other social media platforms.

Choose a giving level

Sunday Driver

You could be the next Max Verstappen with a little more practice. Your donation of $25 could help us replace any old, broken tools to make sure we always have the means to repair our car.

Junior Carting Champion

As a Formula 1 hopeful, your donation of $50 will help us get new driving gear needed to keep our own "karting champions" safe while on the top of their game. From Nomex gloves to crash tested helmets, driver training and safety is one of our top priorities.

Senior Carting Champion

You are ready to step up to the task and turn your power valve up to 11 on your senior series kart. Your donation of $100 will accelerate our team's productivity faster than your kart can reach 60mph by funding improved tool organization for the lab space, reducing the clutter, and speeding up repairs to get us back out on the track ASAP.

Formula 4 Champion

You strive for the best and Formula 4 is your next logical step on your way to Formula 1 World Champ! Your donation of $250 will ensure that Cornell Racing's carbon fiber components are the most expertly manufactured by helping the team fund essential tooling and materials required for our extensive composite process.

Formula 3 Champion

You are ready to race right into the European league and crush the competition. Formula 3 has opened up your eyes to the addition of aerodynamic packages and their downforce benefits. Your donation of $500 will support our innovative, fifth-generation aero package capable of taking ARG23 to cornering forces never seen before.

World Rally Champion

You like to live life dangerously on the dirt, but donate responsibly with your finances. As World Rally Champion, you will be supporting the manufacturing of critical chassis components, such as our differential and suspension dampers necessary to maintain maximum grip and power, given any road conditions.

Formula 2 Champion

You have earned yourself entry into the top tiers of motor racing. Formula 1, here you come! Your gift of $2,500 enables the team to upgrade our car to the highest level by funding current research and development projects for future seasons. Whether it be testing in-hub motors, building a brake dynamometer, or designing an in-house BMS, your donation enables the team to be on the leading edge of automotive engineering.

24 Hours of Le Mans Winner

You can withstand the test of time! Your donation of $5,000 helps us create spares for our most critical parts which enables us to efficiently replace broken components in the paddock and get our vehicle back on track. With your donation, ARG23 can withstand the test of time.

F1 World Champion

You have done it! You have joined Cornell Racing at the top of the podium! #1 feels so good! Your donation of $10,000 dollars helps us fund the powerhouse of ARG23 with the purchase of an inverter, BMS, cooling components, and an entire set of lithium ion batteries. With your donation, we can afford to squeeze every last bit of power from our powertrain!
