The Chorus and Glee Club are two of Cornell’s proudest and most historic student organizations. Comprised of over one hundred singers from all corners of the University, the Choirs continue Cornell’s proud tradition of our college songs. In addition to their Big Red pride, both groups have gained a reputation as one of the finest classical choirs in the world. In 2012 the Glee Club placed second in the renowned Choir of the World competition in Llangollen, Wales, while in 2013 the Chorus dominated at the Harvard Women's Chorus Festival.

With the mission of representing our university abroad and expanding our artistic horizons, the Chorus and Glee Club will embark on a performance and service tour through Guatemala and Mexico this coming January. Most notably, this tour will include a performance alongside the Xalapa Symphony Orchestra, Mexico's oldest and most renowned orchestra. Together, the ensembles will reprise our performance of Cantares, a piece composed by Cornell Professor Roberto Sierra which we premiered at Carnegie Hall last spring.

The tour will also include collaborations with University ensembles, and school and community workshops in Guatemala and Mexico. In addition, our Mexico City performance will catalyze the kickoff of the official Cornell Club of Mexico, providing a unique chance to engage alumni far from the Hill.
