Sitara at Cornell

We are Sitara.

We are Cornell's premiere competitive co-ed Bollywood fusion dance team, and are also the university's oldest South Asian dance group. We compete at events across the country to share our love of dance and South Asian culture with our audiences. We have been competing nationally for the past five years and have:

1. Placed 3rd at Amherst Agni 2025
2. Placed 3rd at Sitara 2024
3. Competed at Midwest Dhamaka 2023

STA 5.0 at our first competition, South Asian Showdown!

We need your help.

We are approaching our sixth competitive season. As a result of increasing travel costs, competition fees, and our need for creative, on-theme costumes and eye-catching set design, we are facing financial difficulties that can make it difficult for us to get to competitions across the country and deliver our best performance. Any support that you can provide is greatly appreciated and would help to directly offset those costs.

Hand-painted backdrops from our set last year!

 Thank you!

Check us out on Instagram! For those of you who made it this far, here's a video of our 2025 performance at Amherst Agni, where we got third place!
