Cornell SensTech

SensTech currently has 18 undergraduates spanning a diverse set of majors, organized into three subteams. Through research, prototyping, and testing, the team aims to make a meaningful impact in patient care. Currently we are developing a sensor for Levodopa to monitor Parkinson's Disease

Wet Lab is exploring continuous sensing strategies for Levodopa monitoring. Techniques include looking into Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs), which are synthetic materials designed to recognize and bind Levodopa specifically.

Dry Lab works on fabricating the portion of the sensor that focuses on signal detection and signal processing. Last year, the device was based on a microfluidic chip that guided the sample over electrodes along with a creatine specific nanocomposite.

Business & Outreach aims to create a go-to-market strategy that simulates a startup company. We identify revenue streams and talk to potential stakeholders such as doctors and patients to validate our product.

After gaining feedback from stakeholders, we then modify the product and continue iterating with stakeholders and R&D until the final product pitch at competition in August.

All three teams work together in unison to create the most accurate and cost effective sensor!

As a registered student organization, we are committed to equal access to all of our programs and do not discriminate based on any protected identity status.
