For nearly 40 years, Professor Stephen Yale-Loehr has devoted his career to developing the next generation of immigration lawyers, empowering Cornell law students with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on learning experiences to serve these often under-resourced populations.
In this time, Professor Yale-Loehr has taught immigration and asylum law to more than 500 students, creating multiple law clinics to help people seeking asylum in the U.S., all of which have provided valuable learning experiences for today’s legal scholars while filling urgent humanitarian needs.

Now, through the creation of the Stephen Yale-Loehr Immigration Scholarship, we have a chance to carry on Professor Yale-Loehr’s legacy, honoring his life’s work to celebrate immigrant perspectives and ensure immigration law excellence here at Cornell Law School.
