Autonomous Underwater Vehicles

Hello!

On behalf of all CUAUV members, we would like to announce that our crowdfunding project has officially begun! CUAUV (Cornell University Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) is a project team composed of around 50 undergraduate students that competes in AUVSI's international Robosub competition. Each year, we design, build, program, and test a completely new autonomous submarine. In August, we ship our sub down to competition, press the green button, and, if we've done our job correctly, cheer it on as it navigates through complicated, obstacle-ridden waters with no human intervention whatsoever.

CUAUV has placed 1st seven times, and we’re putting forth our best effort to repeat our success this summer. Pulling off our projects requires both intensive student effort and community support, and we’re asking for your help to contribute towards our mission. This year, we’re aiming for $6,000 to help fund our complete redesign of our sub, featuring a new single-piece machined hull, providing enhanced durability and stability underwater. We’re also aiming to add more robust actuators and an upgraded manipulator system to increase precision and reliability.  All gifts donated through our campaign site are tax-deductible and donors will receive a tax receipt following gift processing.

We appreciate your consideration and support in making our underwater dreams a reality. Together, let's dive into success!
