The Team
Cornell AutoBoat is a student-led engineering team focused on advancing naval architecture and marine robotics through hands-on innovation. Comprising undergraduate students from diverse majors, the team dedicates each year to researching, designing, and building an autonomous boat capable of motion planning, object detection, and performing simple robotic tasks. Competing annually in RoboNation’s international RoboBoat competition in Sarasota, FL, Cornell AutoBoat provides members with the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges. This experience not only hones their technical skills but also prepares them for impactful careers in the marine and robotics industries.
Support
We compete in the international RoboBoat competition organized by RoboNation. This annual event brings together teams from around the world to showcase advancements in autonomous maritime systems. In 2024, the competition featured 16 teams from six countries, including Canada, Indonesia, Mexico, Poland, Turkey, and the United States.
Will you help us represent Cornell on the world stage by supporting our journey to the RoboBoat competition?
Your donation will cover the cost of some components of our boat, such as the temperature sensor!
Your donation will cover the cost of our Arduino electric microcontroller. This will be used in our freshman projects!
Your donation will cover the cost of our boat’s compass and other components as well!
Your donation will cover the cost of the resin we use to make our boat’s physical structure!
Your donation will cover the transportation cost and plane tickets of one member during competition!
