Our Upcoming Winter Boston Tour
In January 2025, the Cornell Orchestras will embark on a five-day performance and community engagement tour in Boston, Massachusetts! Our featured performance will take place at the iconic New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall, showcasing the talent and dedication of our members.
Beyond the concert, we will engage with the local community through a variety of outreach activities. We are partnering with Phillips Academy in Andover for a series of workshops and are also hosting members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra for instrumental masterclasses. This tour, our first since 2019, is not just about performing—it’s about creating lasting connections and sharing the joy of music with the Boston community.
Cornell Orchestras alumni have cited our past tours to Taiwan, Argentina, Ireland, Puerto Rico, and Germany as some of the most impactful experiences of their Cornell careers. We need your support to continue providing this valuable opportunity for our students and communities!
Thank you for supporting the Cornell Orchestras and our mission to promote artistic excellence, collegiality, and a lifelong engagement with music!
About the Cornell Orchestras
Founded in 1871 as the “University Orchestra,” the Cornell Orchestras is one of the oldest organizations on campus. Composed today of the Cornell Symphony Orchestra and the Cornell Chamber Orchestra, the ensembles are made of approximately 100 young musicians dedicated to performing repertoire from the baroque to the 21st century. The orchestras present seven concerts per season which include world premieres, collaboration with guest artists and student soloists, and partnerships with members of our local community.
