Cornell Squash is a performance-oriented program that values the principles of hard work, improvement, and the welfare of our student-athletes. The team culture of Cornell Squash is a constant work in progress, and we hold the values of integrity, accountability, and teamwork in high regard.
Having just finished our championship season, we are pleased to announce that both teams achieved our regular season goals of finishing in the top eight. Men finishing at #7 and the Women’s Team finishing at #8 in the rankings!
Both teams were very consistent all season, beating rivals Drexel and UVA (with the Men) along the way. We had 10 players that earned CSA Scholar-Athlete status and two Academic All-Ivy awards.
In his final season, Veer Chotrani was unbeaten this season, finishing with a perfect 13-0 record. Veer was later named Ivy League player of the season, received the coveted Skillman Award, and was crowned the College Individuals Men’s Champion! This is the 1st time in program history that a Men’s Team player achieved any of these achievements.
Wen Li Lai was also nominated for the Betty Richey Award and was named in the 1st Team All-Ivy and the 1st Team, All-American in her Senior Year.
The coaches are immensely proud of what both teams achieved this season and look forward to continuing to lead the program into the future.
The support we receive from our alumni is outstanding. Squash is one of a few programs that are self-funded. We are always appreciative of the gifts we receive toward the program. This last season we have been using performance analysis software (Hudl) and heart rate monitors daily to prepare for our next opponents, analyze our last matches, and prepare for training sessions. The use of this technology is made possible through fund raising. Gifts also allow the program to have the travel, recruiting and equipment budgets needed to continue being competitive.
Thank you so much for your support. Go Big Red!
