Big Red Polo

Big Red Polo provides students the opportunity to compete on one of the top intercollegiate teams in the country. We are one of a handful of Division I teams in Polo that can challenge for a national title, and we have an incredible string of horses and facilities. Our dedicated student-athletes are committed to competing at the highest level in and outside the barn.

We teach skills across a variety of areas, including polo technique, horsemanship, and responsibility. Developing expertise in swings, riding, and polo rules and strategies makes us competitive. The horses always come first: our program is dedicated to providing the utmost quality of care to our horses and making sure they are in the best shape they can be to compete. With that comes great responsibility, and in addition to their studies, the athletes are expected to do their part for the team and horses by mucking stalls, cleaning tack, clipping manes, and working at games.

The Polo program relies on its annual gifts in order to operate. These gifts support the many costs associated with the team, including repairing and replacing tack, blankets, riding equipment, and veterinary expenses. Because of our donors, we can take extended trips that require shipping horses, lodging, meals, and more.
