Gymnastics

When the program began in 1974, Cornell Gymnastics built a foundation of strength, flexibility, and determination. We work to continually improve upon that beginning, fostering a team environment in an inherently individualized sport by treating everyone as a part of our CUG Family. Our goal is to create a space where our gymnasts can have their best four years of gymnastics while becoming stronger and more confident people. Learning, growing, and changing to achieve new goals is a key component of who we are and who we will become, as we create friendships and memories for a lifetime. Our close-knit alumnae community has allowed our athletes to make connections with mentors, celebrate our successes together, and open up endless life opportunities.

"There’s truly nothing like the group of girls I’ve come to know and love on Cornell Gymnastics. When I got to Cornell freshman year the team surrounded me with support, creating a safe space I could go to when everything else seemed too stressful. Today, this team is more than friends—it’s a family. We support each other, pick each other up, and I can’t imagine doing the sport I love with any other group by my side."

"Being a part of CUG means having a built-in family that I know will always be there for me no matter what. Becoming part of the Cornell Gymnastics team was the best decision that I have ever made. It is a group of girls that are so loving, caring, and so much fun. They are people that I want to be surrounded by at all times. We are always all putting in the work together, and pick each other up when we are down. The past three years on this team have been the best three years of my life and I wouldn’t change it for anything. CUG puts the fun in gymnastics each and every day and I would not be the same person I am now without it."

Cornell Gymnastics continues to thrive through the generosity of alumni, families, and friends. Being able to represent Cornell in the gym and the classroom as a member of CUG would be impossible without the support of our “family.” We are grateful to be able to travel, purchase new equipment,  and upgrade our space through your generosity.
