What sets Cornell Golf apart from all the other programs is the dynamic relationships built amongst coaches and teammates. Though golf is an individual sport, our coaches stress the importance of team chemistry and pushing each other, both on and off the golf course. Whether it's traveling to and from tournaments, or our Friday night dinners, the team provides an experience beyond our students' loftiest expectations. The camaraderie and competitive spirit we instill in each other have not only made us better golfers, but better human beings.
During a player's time competing at Cornell, they have to change their mindset from competing as an individual to a team-focused mentality. This is can be difficult for some, but once they realize the support they have from their Big Red teammates and coaches, it helps players to compete at a higher level. Everyone has each other’s backs and looks out for one another. The relationships built during this process last a lifetime and go way beyond competing on the course.
The CU Men’s Golf program is self-funded and relies on its annual gifts to operate. These gifts pay for all the costs associated with the team, from travel to equipment to salaries. Every year we have a goal to reach and it’s important we hit our mark in order to compete. The funds raised stay within the program if not spent, and over the years it has allowed us to purchase a custom team Sprinter van, along with a Trackman that is used outdoors as well as in our team indoor facility. All gifts received will not only help cover our annual expenses, they will allow us to give the young men on the team an experience they will never forget. Please make a gift today!
