A very exciting update!

Just last week, we obtained a very beautiful upright piano. It sounds and plays wonderfully. As you can see here, I am overjoyed!

With the exception of Quiet Hours during weekday mornings, the piano will be available for general use whenever the Big Red Barn is open. It can also be used during special events, such as TGIF or student-organized socials. This will no doubt help create a joyful atmosphere at the Barn.

This is a little late for our 6 month update, but I have good news!

With your support we were able to install a new wood stove in the Barn at the end of February! Just in time to get a few weeks of warmth and ambiance before the crazy March temperatures warmed up our days.  AND we have enough fuel to get us through Fall semester!

Also, with your support and some more help from the Graduate & Professional Student Assembly (GPSA), we are in the process of securing a "studio piano" to bring music back to the Barn.    We  have also submitted a project request for a updated bike rack in front of the Barn.

So my hope is that by the end of the fall semester we should have the Barn up and running with all of these additions to enhance the experience for graduate & professional students at the Big Red Barn.

Hooray!  We are getting a wood stove!  Thank you for all your support!

Our campaign has come to a close and we will be able to buy the wood stove.

A nice 25th Anniversary present for the Big Red Barn and graduate & professionals students that are here and will enjoy it in the future.  Your contributions made it happen.

Thanks to all of you for your support and donations. We have made it over the 55% mark - so we can now buy the wood stove!  You have made the Barn warm for this coming winter.

Now we'd like to get a new piano and fill the Barn with music!  We are down to the wire only 6 hours left to get the extra $5000 we need to get the piano!  

If you know someone who has not given but wants to - who just forgot - who is not aware that they can give please pass it on now!  We are running out of time!

Today is Giving Tuesday and the last day to try to reach our goal of $12,500! 

We want to thank everyone who has donated to the Big Red Barn thus far!  We appreciate your support.

We have raised 43% of our goal and only need $1100 for our wood stove! We still have a way to go!

We need $7,109 to get to our goal.  We need that extra $6000 for the piano.

We believe we can do it! We have until midnight on November 30th.

The Barn is THE PLACE for all graduate & professional students.  Let's make it a BETTER PLACE!

We got our first big snow in Ithaca last night!  Our project team met this afternoon and decided that as we enter the winter season, it is our priority to keep the Barn visitors warm and cozy. We want to focus the efforts of our campaign around the wood stove and the piano because we’d love to have those as soon as possible! So we are modifying our goal to $12,500.

Don’t get us wrong – we still want to upgrade the bike rack. Every gift will count toward making the Big Red Barn the best place for Cornell students to hang out.

We are now going into our 3rd week of the crowdfunding project for the Big Red Barn 25th Anniversary.  With the goal change we are now closer to getting 30% of our goal by Thanksgiving.  Help us get there in the next week - this is the season for giving.

You know the value of the Barn to graduate and professional students. Let’s make it just that much better for them with these added enhancements – a cozy & warm wood stove and an inviting piano to bring people together!

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Big Red Barn!  We are now going into our 3rd week of our project for the 25th Anniversary.  We have raised 22% of our goal, but still have a ways to go to reach $15,000.  Right now with $3380.00, we can afford to purchase the bike rack, and put some funds  toward the wood stove.   We only have 10 days left to raise the remaining $11,000 needed to fill the Barn with warmth and music! 

If you could reach out to your friends and colleagues with a reminder and a nudge to make an anniversary contribution of $25 or $250 or maybe even $2500 , we would be very grateful.

We were very excited to see our Big Red Barn 25th Anniversary Crowdfunding Project launch this week. And with your help we were able to raise 15% toward our goal ($2400.00).  This is very exciting as now we are halfway to being able to purchase a wood stove for the Barn. This will not only create a little more warmth for the main space but create a cozy ambiance to welcome students this winter.

But we still have a ways to go to meet our goal of $15,000. With your support moving forward we can accomplish this and install a wood stove over winter break in time to brighten up those January /February gray cloudy days.  And then purchase a new piano and a bike rack for the spring!!
