Support Les Femmes de Substance Annual Women's Retreat

Les Femmes de Substance is a student-run organization that provides professional growth to women of color at Cornell University. Les Femmes de Substance empowers women to pursue any and every aspiration by providing a foundation of sisterhood, educational experiences, and mentorship. The organization creates a sisterhood in which its members learn from each other and simultaneously develop in the professional world. In order to accomplish these goals, we hold a series of events throughout the year, including our principal event, the annual Women of Substance Retreat.

Our annual Women of Substance Retreat is especially instrumental to pursuing our mission of inspiring women to lead and crystalize sisterhood. During the off-campus retreat each year, the Les Femmes executive board invites the women of Cornell to spend a weekend participating in workshops and social events that teach essential skills and foster success in all future endeavors. Les Femmes de Substance knows that representation of women of color in the professional world matters. It is important for young women of color to have access to successful women and mentors who they can relate to. The environment provided at the retreat, as well as other LFDS events, helps to affirm and support the empowerment of women of color.

We have been fortunate to hold this retreat for the past fifteen years because of the donations from generous organizations and alumni. If you are interested in our mission and support our cause, please support our fundraiser for $8,000. The total amount raised will directly support the costs of the retreat and other important events of Les Femmes de Substance. We aim to keep the price of attendance for our events as low as possible, given that we want to make our learning opportunities accessible to all women of color at Cornell, regardless of income.
