Help Cornell Boxing Club Continue its Growth!
Since its re-establishment in 2002, The Cornell Boxing Club has provided the Cornell community a way to stay active and relieve stress through the exhilarating sport of boxing. Since then, the club has bolstered to nearly 300 members, many of whom have connected with other members to train and socialize outside of the weekly practice sessions. The idea of showcasing their skills and representing Cornell in a high level of competition has prompted the Cornell Boxing Club to provide 5-10 of their members the chance to compete in the upcoming United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association (USIBA) National Tournament in March 2019.
USIBA Provides a Safe and Competitive Exhibition for College Boxing Clubs
USIBA was established in 2012 to form a safe and competitive league for university boxing clubs and their teams. Each year since their establishment, USIBA has held a national tournament for all of the colleges registered in their organization. During 22-24 March 2019, USIBA will be holding a national tournament at Syracuse University. Among the colleges planning to attend are: University of Michigan, University of Illinois, Georgetown, Syracuse University, and many others. Each competitor will fight at least one fight that consists of three 3-minute rounds.

What Happens if We Win the Tournament?
If members advance to the championship bout, they will have the opportunity to gain recognition as a top fighter within the national organization and bring home a championship belt for their university.
Why do We Want to Compete?
In order for the Cornell Boxing Club to reach a new level as a sports club, we need your help! Currently the club is unrecognized on a national level and we aim to establish a competitive tradition for now and the future. Being recognized as a member of USIBA and competing in their national tournament will allow the Cornell Boxing Club to be a pioneer of a national sports movement. As of now, there are no other Ivy league institutions a part of USIBA or any other college boxing organization for that matter. The Cornell Boxing Club has the opportunity to be an integral part in the revival of college boxing and to form a new tradition for the university.
